New Freshman Students: Welcome to UMKC! As a first-time college student, your academic advisor will enroll you in your first semester of Fall courses to help you get a strong start. To support us in creating a schedule that aligns with your goals and interests, please complete the Pre-Enrollment Survey sent to you as part of the Admissions process. Your advisor will use your responses, along with any test scores, dual or other college credit, and your Major Map, to build a personalized class schedule. We’ll aim for 15 credit hours to keep you on a smooth path toward graduation. If you’d like to talk through your schedule or have any questions, we’re excited to connect with you during Orientation—we’re here to support you every step of the way!
New Transfer Students: As a transfer student, you are new to UMKC just like all first-year students but you have already earned credits at another institution. After you have confirmed your admission please schedule a 1-hour new transfer student academic advising appointment through your UMKC Connect account, by calling our front desk (816) 235-1148, or emailing us [email protected]. To make the most of your appointment, please have your official transcripts sent to UMKC in advance—this helps us build a schedule that fully recognizes the work you’ve already accomplished and keeps you moving toward your goals.
